OT - Divorces and restraining orders?

Is a restraining order usually a pretty standard part of divorce?

Here it is the only way to get the spouse out of the house legally before divorce is final. I did not do that but was advised by three attorneys to do so. I did make that threat which worked but it would be deserved as he was pushing me when drunk. So glad hes out!

Don't know. The question is too general. Perhaps in an abusive relationship it is. To get an RO (restraining order) you need to have or feel some kind of a threat. Whether physical or psychological. Why do you ask?
