I think i might see a dr

I really have lost it a little and have decided to see a dr . I must be a little crazy as a weekend of ''conscious '' drinking has turned into 5 weeks of drunkenness. I just don't understand how all theses drunk days go quicker than regular days. ill admit that tonight im getting drunk because ''I CAN START AGAIN MONDAY''. what a joke my mind is. I feel bad as i dont have any friends and even the one who i thought understands
turns out he dosnt. I am very self conscious and am very self aware of myself which alot of the time is not good. I sometimes don't post here in case people think im moaning. I feel like im annoying the world, but dont worry im stopping drinking tommorow lol it never happens. I really dont feel very well and wouldnt kill myself despite the thoughts , i just feel so low

Post as much as you need, this is what this place is for.

Sorry you are having such a hard time. Remember Alcohol makes you depressed. Going to the doctor is a great idea, be honest with him about your daily amount.

As for quitting, you probably already read the posts so saying you have to want this more than you want to drink is a repetition of what you already know.

But make no mistake about it, rock bottom will come. Only you can decide how deep it needs to be.

Good luck

Sorry you are struggling Bradley.Alcohol is a depressant, the longer you drink for the worse it will get.

I am sure if you commit to staying sober, you will start to feel better.

If you see a Doctor tell him the truth about your drinking.

I don't think you're crazy.

I think a lot of people tell themselves, I'll quit drinking <on this future date>.

"It's Friday, I'll quit on Sunday. It's the 27th of the month, I'll quit on the first day of next month. I have a birthday coming up, I'll quit after my birthday. Oh wait, St. Patrick's Day is coming up, I'll quit right after that. The holidays are here! I'll quit after that. Well, the year is almost over. I'll make quitting my New Year's resolution."

I think that once you realize that your mind is working this way, you'll realize the folly of this line of reasoning. There's always something coming up! And if you've been in the habit of drinking, a lot of those somethings involve drinking simply out of habit.

To combat this, why not try doing the reverse?

"My birthday is coming up. I'm going to stay sober for that. Oh, my anniversary with my wife is in two weeks. I'm going to stay sober for that. The holidays are coming up! I'll enjoy them more sober."

Best of luck at the doctor - I hope that he or she can help.

Bradley, denial is a big part of the disease of addiction.

Talking to your dr is a good idea. Know for sure that you can do this, and we are here to help.

Glad you are posting Bradley. You sound like a nice guy, and you deserve to be sober and happy. Don't stop trying, Bradley. You can do it. People do.
and the ones I see here that do, seem very happy about it.

hugs

Hi Bradley. I think seeing a doctor is a great idea.

You're not annoying us or moaning - you're supposed to lean on your friends here at times like these. That's what this place is for - support and encouragement.
