So here we are, boom Shaka !! Don't know what others feel at this stage....I have cravings but they last such a short time. Took Fuzz to the vet yesterday, a little stressed. I got home and thought ok I'll have that drink now. What? I don't drink, in seconds real world stuff took over my thoughts and I moved on and didn't think about it again. This happens one or two times a week. Lasts for seconds and goes. Is this about right for my stage of recovery?
Boom Shaka boooom!!! Go sobriety!!!!

A mere 73 days... 73 DAYS is an accomplishment my dear!
So tell me. who was stressed? You or the FUZZ?
As time goes on you will have these thoughts less and less. I still get them occasionally at 110 days. But nothing major. Just fleeting thoughts.
You are doing OKAY my friend!

Hi. Your thinking I would say is normal if your an alcoholic. Alcoholics think of alcohol in many situations. The important thing is not acting on the impulse and take the experience as a learning process. These impulses fade with time as we get healthier.
BE WELL
BE WELL
Congrats on 73! Yes yes yes this is what we were talking about when we said, "it gets better". And shhhhh guess what it's going to keep getting better and better and better, just keep that positive attitude!
I applaud you pam I know you're a hugger so big hug to you

Hi Raider, firstly hope Fuzz is doing okay? And 73 days is awesome, you should be justly proud of your achievement to date.
I'm not sure if the cravings will ever pass completely to be perfectly honest but they do pass very quickly like you say,
Take care Raider.
I think The Fuzz and myself were stressed. I am a bit amazed to see how quickly the urge passes. And I think it's a lot like smoking, it's the physical habit that I sometimes miss. And that is almost the only time it runs past my mind. The most dangerous thought that walks thru my brain is why did I quit drinking, was it that big of a deal?? Then I remember that feeling the other night when I passed out, I did not like that drunk dizzy feeling. I did not like that at all.
Thanks for the hugs Impurfect, yes I am a hugger. .
Thanks guys. Love ya' bunches.

Im happy for the OP, I am day 59 and struggling with boredom. Sleeping a little better, but not much....... average about 6 hours of sleep a night.
Breaking up with alcohol seems to take a lot of time judging from what a lot of other posters on here describe, I have read a few posts about being sober for 1+ years and they STILL have this or that symptom.
i guess the only thing you can do to cope with the boredom is to keep moving forward, im guessing at some point the brain will decide to go back to normal and then the boredom will dissipate
