My 3000th post!
My 3000th post!
That day back two years ago in April 2012 helped change my life. For real.
3000 posts later...
Who thinks joining a website would make a difference in the quality of life I live today? Who?
I was frustrated that first day... The request to be able to post for my first time took a bit longer than my frayed nerves would bear at the time. But the warm welcome from both Anna and Dee came soon enough and continued through my rocky beginning.
It took a year and a half to get sober. I had no idea that the last time I posted about trying yet again would be "the one". So keep posting and your time will come.
I have met and maintained friends here that go beyond some inconsequential commentary about the struggles of maintaining sobriety.
The friendships I have made matter to me a great deal. That's what I think makes SR so great. People who don't have much by way of support in their lives have a place to go to be responsible. And the support is genuine.
Sharing a few pixels between us has impacted my life in very positive ways.
You have been with me in what was truly my darkest hours. I have since seen much brighter days and only getting brighter.
Happy three thousandth post to me!

Congratulations Ken!!
I had never been on a forum, before SR, had no CLUE how much of a difference the people here would make in my life! I don't think I even understood true friendship until I came here.
I'll toast you with my diet coke and can't wait for the next 3,000!!
Hugs and prayers,
Amy

Yay! Thanks for all you do here. When I started posting back in August, your posts were among the first that really made a difference in how I saw my relationship to alcohol. You are always so honest and encouraging. And you have really great recipes.
Olive... Let's set that record straight.... Many... More than I wanted... Were typed through tears and drunkensess... That's the truth. But would this one be sober without that one? Hmmm...
