Greetings all,

I posted my story here recently, and I got so many wonderful responses. First of all, my thanks to everyone who replied and gave me tremendous support and insight.

This is only my second post here-- I'm still a newbie, but I am requesting any information anybody might have on alcoholics anonymous meetings in the Orlando area. I am admittedly shy and socially awkward, but I firmly believe that the next best step for me is to start going to AA. I learn best when I can see how someone else deals with a problem. I don't know any other alcoholics and so it is difficult for me to find the community locally. (My roommates frown on this kind of thing... I suppose it makes them uncomfortable.)

we may have some members with local knowledge - if not, your best bet would be to either google meetings in your area or contact your local AA office

I was just in Orlando and looked into meetings. Unfortunately I had trouble getting away from Mickey, Cinderella and the parks to make it work. Here's the link. Plenty to choose from in the Orlando area. Try to hit several meetings to see which ones are the best fit. Good luck.
