dry "friends"

Well, I moved into assisted living where 2 dry drunks live. Rather than working their Once a month visit to AA...they prefer to focus entirely on the 2x's a week I choose/ love to drink. How do I make them get off their bandwagon, leave me alone and encourage them to work a healthy program go using on themselves?

Not sure what to say and if I understand.

They to AA and continue to drink? Hope that's not what you meant because they are wasting their time and AA's time I think. I'm not in AA, but the point is getting sober.

It's like going to church every Sunday and as soon as your out you crap on people.

Welcome to SR.
Simple>you can't make anybody do anything.
So don't waste your time trying.
Just focus on your own sobriety first.

I think he meant that he lives in close proximity to two people who go to AA, and they've been badgering him about his twice a week drinking.

In regards to OP, you've posted on a forum for recovery, yet don't seem to have any intention to quit drinking, since you love to do so. What would you like to learn here? Are you hoping to gain some insight into the mindset of people who work the AA program?

1. You have moved into an assisted living center where two other people live that are recovering alcoholics

2. They go to AA once a month

3. They are focused on you and the 2 times a week you drink

I assume they are trying to get you to go to AA with them?

Do I have this right?

If so then you do nothing. Let them worry about them. Live your life.
