back for more

I'm Joey. I've known I've had a drinking problem for quite some time. I've had short stints of sobriety, but now I'm in it for good. No more black out nights, bad decisions, hangovers, or empty wallets for me. I'm going to be active here and also go to AA with a friend of mine. 2 days sober so far.

Welcome, Joey!

I'm in a similar situation to you. I've known for several years that I need to stop drinking, and have had some sober stints (max 6 weeks), but this time I am throwing myself into it 100%.

Best of luck to you!

Hi Joey. Being honest about your drinking is number one in order to recover and stay recovered. Going to meetings will expose you, face to face, with sober people who went through the same things you will. I suggest sticking with the winners and becoming active as stopping is simple though not always easy. The overall goal is to get sober and STAY sober.

BE WELL

well i had a stressful night at work yesterday, which led me to drinking. a lot. I feel terrible and guilty this morning, but after a few days sober waking up this way taught me a lesson. Drinking simply isnt worth it. here I go again.

Interesting read. Just going to AA does not keep anyone sober. If you want success in sobriety, you have to work the steps my friend. Get a big book, get a sponsor, and start working the steps.
