Can't escape it
Have you ever felt like everywhere you turn you are confronted by addiction? Or that there's no place to momentarily distract you from it?
I feel as if I'm at my wits end because it's enough to deal with an ABF, but all we've been talking about at work is addiction. I work in the backstage world of theater and the show I'm working on right now deals with addicts in recovery and also talks about the family of one of the addicts. The last 2 weeks have just been emotionally exhausting because for 8 hours a day 6 days a week all we've talked about is addiction and recovery, both about the characters and also in real life.
While some of the information is great (aka it takes place in a chat room, so it gave me the idea to look for a site like this), the rest of the time it feels like torture.
Have you had a similar kind of situation? Any advice?
