Unhappy Sick :/

I'm starting my recovery in the right direction, I've binge drank since the age of 16 now at the legal age to consume alcohol my alcoholism has only gotten worse and now effecting my moods, sleep and eating patterns even my work so now I am able to admit I have a problem and I wanna help myself . I find myself sick in the morning ....groggy without the booze any pointers or tips to the first few days of kicking the bottle to the curb?

Welcome to SR. You may want to see your doctor, alcohol withdrawal can be seriously dangerous. Please read around this site, there is lots of useful information here.

Welcome to SR,Patrick.
Glad you found the site.

My advice would be to get a check up with a doctor and be honest about your drinking.
Some folks have some very dangerous withdrawal symptoms.

Patrick, try not to get too tired or hungry. Try some gentle exercise outdoors; walking is ideal. Eat nutritious food.
Find some support like AA, or your doctor.

Patrick, my advice to you, first and foremost is speak to you Doctor.

Quitting alcohol is not something to be done lightly, especially after years of drinking. Even if it is binge drinking.

Your Doctor will go through the best options, which will SAFELY allow you to STOP.

UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHOULD YOU JUST GO COLD TURKEY WITHOUT ASSISTANCE, IT CAN BE LIFE THREATENING.

A friend of mine stopped drinking 6 weeks ago and because of complications, died from Toxic Shock Syndrome. Unfortunately I wasn't in the country to help him.

Welcome, Patrick. My suggestion would be to involve your doctor in your plan for sobriety. Very glad that you are here.

Hi Patrick - welcome

Seeing a Dr is a good idea - not everyone has prioblem, but it's good for peace of mind to see someone

Hanging around here on SR, reading and posting can be useful too in those early days. Support's important
