I have been fighting alcoholism for years. I moved to Texas to get away from people places and things that were making it easier to drink but now I stay sober for 3 to 7 days but then break and drink. Every time I drink I feel horrible about myself the next day. I'm going to try this site to add to my meetings and maybe I can make the sobriety go longer.

Welcome to SR Lizard - you'll find loads of support & encouragement here.
I was the same way - if it got in my system, bad things happened. It was much easier to just stop all together instead of trying to manage it. You've made a great decision.

Welcome, Lizard. I've tried to sober up a number of times as well, and always fell back to drinking after three to five days. I joined the SR community because I wanted extra help and support to make this newest attempt more successful. Thanks to SR, I am now on Day Nine.
