So, make a plan. Don't let yourself drift along, figure out what you'd like to do this weekend.

And, congrats on Day 13.

Rediscover good food perhaps, nice dinner in or out? Movie? It is weird not having the kids around, even when they get older!

Great ideas but...this is usually our time to yuck it up...this is NOT easy that's for sure. And all these things going on in my head. Am I really an alcoholic? Why can't I drink? Why does it have to be a problem? Why, Why, Why...ugh

Hi amish. You're wise to be anticipating what could happen. It is hard in the beginning to get used to the 'new normal' of not drinking to entertain ourselves. I agree that keeping busy and distracted is key.

SR needs a "send a hug" button. I know it's hard, I am a whopping 6 days ahead of you, so I don't have a ton of great advice except just take it day by day, and your kids need a sober parent. Hang in there, you've made it 13 days which is really a great achievement.

Hi amishlady

I saw in another post you drove into a ditch, drunk?

Thats a pretty clear wake up call.

is your partner on board with you trying to stay sober?
