Day 4 check in
Hello,
I went to my first meeting last night, it was really good although I was a bit shocked about how much others drink.... Made me think I don't have a problem.... But then again I think that's my mind trying to muddle me up that drinking is ok.
I am not going to drink, I feel so exhausted but I am thinking clearly.
Hope your all having a good day

Hey Pink..!
I know what you mean about hearing the amount others drink compared to yourself etc. I used to have similar thoughts. But after numerous failed attempts to quit and, as a result of those failed attempts, growing depression, I realised that FOR ME it wasn't a competition and comparison how much an individual drank or drinks. It is simply how drinking affects MY OWN LIFE. Sure many drank a lot more then me on a daily and weekly basis. Sure I never had a drink while at work while others did BUT.... my own drinking affected MY LIFE. My own drinking depressed me. Its why I am here and its why I have taken this extra step to stay sober today. Strength and power to you Pink..

Well done Pink, AA is a good place to start as well as on here.
Back to day 4 for me .. I think lol. The thought of a drink always niggling away at me. Not worth the hassel, But I seem to think I can moderate it......For a while, until it turns to diasaster.

Good going, Pink! As others have said, you have to be careful to avoid comparing your drinking to that of others. Some people can drink quit a bit and never have a problem while others have issues with a little. Remember why you decided to quit in the first place.
It looks like you're off to a great start!

Hello Pink, There you go. Good on you.
Be careful thinking about how others drank more than you...
AA is a good reminder to me that I could one day be one of those guys who drank more than I.
Whenever you feel like you want a drink, just repeat these words.
"Pink don't drink. Pink don't drink. Pink don't drink."
That can be your new mantra. Your welcome.
