Good for you. A little tip: take advantage of this opportunity. Listen, learn, pay attention to the counselors and try not to get sidetracked - there are plenty of people who think it's all a "bunch of BS" and try and skip out on meetings and tasks. Try to follow the rules and do what's asked of you, and give an effort when it comes to your assignments and duties.

Not everyone is lucky enough to get this chance and a lot of those who are will discard it. Do not be one of those people. Work. Soak up what you can in this brief time. You will need all the armour you can get once you get outside those walls.

All the best!

good luck in rehab - stay the course

I am curious though. Most rehabs I know about cut you off from outside contact for a period of time - 1 week. And then it's only the use of a pay phone at designated times for 10 minutes or so. just wondering. tobacco is rationed as well. you have to ask for it. you in UK by chance?

Same in Ireland LB. One phonecall per week, no internet, no mobile phones no TV and one afternoon visit per week.
Sounds like hell, but it was wonderfull.

Lawgirl: What bigsombrero said x10.

good luck

Interesting. I was gonna say, "What BigSombrero said" too. After I got over my initial puzzled response.

Well lawgirl, just think of the difference when you see your fiance next time. It should be very special. Good luck. And like BigS says, don't let the haters take you down.
