Day 10
I joined on here a few days back and received some very blunt yet respectful and very valid input. In addition have found a wealth of information, very good people, and inspiring stories.
I have been drinking heavily in the late afternoons for the past 18-24 months. Although nothing negative had happened in my life due to the drinking, the little voice of concern was affirmed by the input, looking at the posts, and how the progressive spiral can accelerate.
Prior to joining, I gave up drinking for lent with the known exception of a couple of work functions. I limited myself to two drinks on those two evenings and stuck to it. Therefore I have not been drunk for 20 days but 100% alcohol free for 10 days. So I'm being honest with a 10 count.
Have not had any real physical cravings just a couple of psychological thoughts here and there that were relatively easily contained. Obviously not easy easy with my work and social environment, but I commit to staying the course.
Thanks for everything and look forward to many more sober days.
Godspeed

Ten days is a long time! If you want to stay clean &sober just try to remember " DON'T PICK UP THAT FIRST DRINK ". It took me almost 17 years to get the 80 days I have today! It was soo hard for me just to get 24 hours! Keep it going!!!
