My story, day 2
When I was younger I was a binge drinker, only a few times a month but when I started I just drank to much.
5 years ago I hit rock bottom (or so I thought) when I was told I had cancer, 12 months of gruelling treatment and 9 operations later I went into remission..... Thats when the drinking really began.
It was just a few glasses of wine or bottles of beer a day, I'm 30 I thought, and I've been through a lot.
But I was out of control, 5 years on and my husband has left me because of my drinking, I am worried he will take our son of me. When he left 8 weeks ago I was still in denial about my drinking but I have now realised I have a problem, I went to the doctors and they referred me to a support group tomorrow.
Your posts on here as so helpful, I never want to feel the shame and dread again. I want to start living my life again, it seems that even though I survived the cancer, I have not really been living.
Thank for reading x

Hi Pink and congratulations on your admission to yourself! That is one of the hardest parts of your journey towards sobriety and you are past that now!
