I recently became sober after a battle of drinking a 5th of Whiskey a day for many many years. I am a few days away from reaching 30 days sober. I've started to notice since I quit that I have random flashbacks out of nowhere of something from a long time ago most of the times 6 or 7 years ago. Has anyone else had this happen to them? It's extremely strange it happens to me multiple times a day.

I have those too. Memories long forgotten will pop into me head out of nowhere. I don't have them as often but it is strange. Good for you on your close to 30 days, keep it up!

I started remembering really random stuff from my past after I quit. Probably around the same time frame as you now that I think of it. It has since passed but I recall finding it strange as well. I think it's probably just a side effect of our brains spinning back up to full operating potential after years of being hampered by the booze.
