I just got to 11 months sober a few days ago.
I have dropped 25 pounds, excercise on a regular basis, gave up meat and eat great. I am 31 and get mistaken for a high school student. I am close to my family again and have saved a ton of money. Sugar cravings are almost gone and I have no alcohol cravings whatsoever.
On the sad side, my sister lost a baby at 4 months pregnant. My favorite cousin is in the hospital with blood clots in the chest and an elementary school friend is slowly dying from CF. Not once during this ordeal do I want alcohol. It's become such a habit to just not drink. This mindset came after many bad, depressing months of withdrawls and side effects from what I did to my body.
On the dating side, I want absolutely nothing to do with men at all. I broke up with a guy after 6 years together when I quit drinking. I don't feel that I will ever be ready or wanting another relationship but I suppose that will just come with time.
The greatness will finally come after hard, hard work. Just keep trucking along!!
