Can't battle anymore, I give up.
Welcome to SR.
It really does help to talk with folks that have been in the same situation as you are.
I think one of the main reasons I have been sober for almost 8 months now is from the strength I gain here as well as home and the good Lord.
There is always somebody here to talk with

There are many roads and tools to recovery. Rational Recovery/AVRT is what put the brakes on my drinking, forever. Here is a link to one person's using this method:
http://www.soberrecovery.com/forums/...ined-long.html
Here is a list of some other methods:
http://www.soberrecovery.com/forums/...formation.html
Here is a link about quitting and what you may experience:
http://www.soberrecovery.com/forums/...at-we-did.html
Some use only one method, some use a combination of methods but we all have one thing in common and that is to stop the madness. To become abstinent and to live a life free from alcohol/drugs.
Best to you.

welcome philly.
You can do it.
Are you working a program?
This site is really a fantastic tool for me. Daily. It's been a really big help in my sobriety. But I don't think this site alone would cut it. I have to actively work on sobriety.
I also use AA - not every day, sometimes not even every week, but a community of real live face to face people I can talk to and listen to is pretty powerful for me.
And working on steps, writing things down, exercising, reminders of gratitude, reminders of all the evidence in my life that drinking isn't a positive for me.... all these are things that I need to keep at the fore in order to stay sober.
But holy heck, is it worth it!
Keep on posting, keep on sharing, keep on NOT DRINKING and take one step at a time.
