Thumbs up Meditation

If you want to learn to meditate, I'd advise signing up to this FREE 21 day mediation with Deepak.

I did last fall, and was amazed how it's helped me. I've since purchased them, so I can listen daily.

He has a calming voice, they give you a sample of it.

That is great...I have tried many meditation techniques and I am a huge believer in the benefits. I would tend to avoid TM (not what you are suggesting just chiming in) due to the costs.

Good luck with it Jdooner. I love it, it's made a huge difference with me today I recommend it to those needing to calm their thinking, or a good start with learning to meditate.

I agree. But some of us have trouble with that. Me being one of them. The link I put up, is free.

I like Deepak a lot and find his talks very accessible, engaging and useful. Some things he's said I've never forgotten.

I also did a couple 10 day Vipassana courses and got a ton out of them. I wouldn't say it was easy at all, quite intense actually. It did give me amazing coping tools and while I don't practice regularly, I kind of practice all the time, in that I always carry some of what I learned. I used to know what my problems were but not what to do about them, after Vipassana I had somewhere to start. And it's also free (anonymous donation if you feel inclined).

Brazilian I'm glad you're going to give it a try.

I wouldn't be here yammering on about it, if it didn't make a difference. I can't even begin to explain what it's done for me.

I've tried to meditate before, in silence, to only find myself wanting to fall asleep, lol, I guess that was a good thing, I didn't think then.

Wackybunny, I love your user name, cute. Thanks for your post.

The free meditations start 4.14.14.....The last time he had them up, I think they give you three days to use each one, then they take it down. Hopefully it will be the same.

When I first did them, it took me to an amazing place, it made me cry. My eyes were shut, and the tears flowed freely. When he rang the soft bell and said to open our eyes when we felt good about it, I didn't want to open my eyes at all. The freeing, peace it gave me, well I can't describe it.

For those who try it, I sure hope you get out of it, what I have, and what I continue to today.

Namaste
