I guess you call it being a dry drunk. I just feel horrible. Snuck a couple of cigarettes and this is not my usual sober self. My emotions feel like I feel when I'm drinking. I've been feeling like this for close to a week. Anyone else ever experience this? I'm trying to get out of this funk. The only thing I can do is curl up in bed and try to ride it out.

If curling up in bed is what you need, then do that. Hopefully no one told you this is easy, because it's not. Keep on!

I don't think a week long stretch of the blues is entirely out of the ordinary. But if you recognize it as recovery related, I think you know the solution. Go back and read your old posts. I think your advice to others will serve you well.

I can totally relate. I've been known, too, to have the random cigarette too....that was an old drinking habit. Like life, recovery has it's ebbs and flows too. It's good that you know you are in a funk. Like a craving, this will pass. Sometimes we have to get in to a quiet place within ourselves to really figure out what is going on. Maybe there is some type of change for you on the horizon
