Valium

So im here on day 4, day 5 is RIGHT THERE round the corner and as you might know today has been AWFUL with the cravings, now I have valium which the doctor gave me for when I flew to Ghana last November, I didn't use them. Shall I take one tonight to help me sleep?

It's up to you whether or not you take one. I can't advise you on medical matters.

Chilledice, 4 days is FANTASTIC, congratulations. Cravings can be mighty powerful at 4 days sober, but please just tuff it out, they will subside and go away with time. Be careful with the valiums, rootin for ya.

Personally I wouldn't. It's extremely addictive and no point trading 1 addicition for another.I know it's orugh feeling like you aren't sleeping and will never sleep again but you will and when you do it will be proper rejuvenating sleep. Taking benzos now to get you to sleep will just make you dependant on them .Not medical advice of course just mho.

If they were prescribed by your doctor to help you sleep and also with their knowledge that you have recently quit drinking, then it should be fine. If not, I'd ask your doctor.
