I love waking up sober...
So this weekend I slipped. It was my birthday and I drank... with reckless abandon! It's ok. I am learning something every time. I had a physical on Monday, told my doctor about my drinking and made it a priority for the upcoming year:
Stop drinking, lose weight.
I have come to the realization that I am not an "alcoholic", but i AM a problem drinker. I lie. I sneak beer. And though I can stop for periods of time I think about it A LOT.
Time for some healthier habits. Which brings me to my topic: Sleep.
Going to bed sober and waking up sober is so wonderful. No more bone-dry mouth in the morning, no more headaches, no more confusion. You wake up... refreshed... I love it!

Has not being an alcoholic made it any easier for you to stop? Appears not. So something is missing out of the equation. Something that is keeping you from being sober.
And it's more than the label "alcoholic."

When does it start feeling great? Tomorrow is 30 days for me and I still wake up with a foggy head. Tired and always unmotivated. I lost my job 3 weeks ago and have accomplished nothing in the time I've been home. I thought not drinking would give me the clear head and the motivation I needed. It hasn't.
