Thought about buying a bottle today
Usually it's just a fleeting thought, but today I actually seriously considered it briefly. Then I thought of this board and the people who I've tried to encourage and those who have encouraged me...I'm home with no alcohol and my only plan is to walk the dog.
Another realization is I like where I live. I moved here 6 1/2 months ago and it's SO different than what I'm used to. I seriously have contemplated moving closer to "home", but realized today the only reason I want to is to live closer to my boyfriend. I really do love him, but know where I am now is best for me. So, I'm going to stay put and really make an effort to make a new healthy life down here.
All in all, today has been a good day even with some of my mood swings (really depressed at times). I'm sure it's still my mind and body getting adjusted to being alcohol free because prior to drinking I didn't have mood swings like this...plus I've had recent blood work and a doctor visit so all is well on the health side.
Day 65 and marching forward!!!

I'm glad for you! If you cave there would be an instant of pleasure followed by crushing guilt and a feeling of having failed. I try to be mindful; understand the urge you feel and don't try to fight it or suppress the thought. Just let it "be" and try to understand it. Eventually you can begin to "see the moment" and just "let it be", understanding that that moment will pass, to be replaced by a different moment. Bad times will pass, so don't let them get you down. By the same token, don't get too cocky in good times because they will also pass. But with time you also begin to understand the power you have to decide what kind of moment you will experience.
