almost slipped

to celebrate 90 days i went and bought a bottle of red wine,
was excited to get my first buzz in over 90 days.
this would be the only time i would drink and i was only going to have a glass or two.
i opened the bottle, poured a glass gave it a good sniff and right before taking a sip i started thinking about the pain and agony i went through to get this far.
i poured the wine out.
now several hours later i am so glad i did because im still sober.
it might be hard but the freeking out does pass.
i have to be strong and not give in to temptation.
i guess im kinda scared of taking that first drink and thats a good thing.
i guess i blew 20 bucks and the lesson i learned is sometimes i forget
how miserable alcohol made my life.

Hey spike, yeap very important to remember what alcohol used to do to our lives, and ask the question, once you had that first sip, would you really have only had 2 glasses or would the bottle have been polished off? maybe even lead to another?

Great job on pouring it out!!

you did well not drinking.

maybe look at how you felt building up to it so in future you know what triggers you and you don't buy the wine.

Many congrats on 90 days

i remember on my way to the liquor store i was excited thinking " i will only drink on my days off and i wont drink very much, just enough to catch a buzz but not get hungover.
maybe the trigger is simply having a day off work.

Well done Spike.
Best move you made today was to get rid.
Nice one.
