Vegas, eight days later....
Vegas, eight days later....
Well... it's 9:40pm.
I've just returned from a private Fall Out Boy / Elvis Costello concert.
I'm settling in to relax for a few, get ready for bed and turn in early. Again. I've been here eight days and not been in bed later than 10:30. Sober, the whole time... though there is alcohol everywhere and I am surrounded by drinkers - SOBER.
It has been really good. I've had fun, too. Actual fun - not just act like a fool half-drunk with a bunch of drunks fun. But fun. That I will remember.
More remarkable is that I asked my higher power for guidance several times this week on some big issues in my life - and some amazing, incredible new doors have opened as if by direct response.
This has been a good week and I just want to say to all of you I've come to know here and all of you newcomers who may chance to read this; You really CAN stop the mad cycle and it really, really, REALLY is better.
Thanks SR for helping me....

thank you all!!!
The sunrise today is gorgeous over the desert mountains and I stood, feet-in-grass drinking coffee feeling very blessed to be sober and alive and healthier-by-the-day!!
ZOmbieGirl - fall out boy was pretty good actually. To be honest, I wasn't even sure who the hell they were!! Turned out I did know a few of their songs and they did a really energetic show. Most of their stuff wasn't really my style but they've got talent and zest.

Congratulations FreeOwl - 60 days is fantastic, and your story is so inspirational and HAPPY!! It's brilliant that you're appreciating how much better life is without alcohol and that you can actually have REAL FUN when 100% sober! I've just enjoyed my first alcohol-free weekend away with (drinking) friends, and I can honestly say I enjoyed myself so much, laughed until I tears were rolling down my face, could concentrate totally on my friends and what they had to say, and remembered every minute of it, and nothing was ruined because of alcohol.

What a positive post, thank u. I got married in Vegas at the Quad (The Old Imperial Palace).
Been back 6 times since but never sober.
There are a lot of fun things to do there now besides drink and gamble compared to 29 years
ago. I am glad you are having fun!
