New member.... finally joined
I have been reading this forum for several weeks. I finally decided to join.
I am married to a man that has multiple addictions... alcohol is just one of them. I have detached. He sucks the life out of me. Lies, manipulation, emotional and verbally abusive.
I have been doing the steps on my own. I would go to al anon meetings but live in a rural area... no meetings nearby. My step parent did al anon many years ago so they are walking me through the first steps and I am reading everything online that I can get my hands on. Heading to a bookstore this week to buy some of the good books I have heard about.
I have journalled step 1 and 2 and started journalling step 3.
Really enjoy that i read on this forum. Excited to learn all that I can so that I can stop being co-dependent and be healthy. My brain feels so much more clear and less craziness in my life.

I am glad that you are making it about you; that is who is really important here...you. I do not know much about Al Anon but there is a forum here for friends and family of alcoholics. I hope that you continue to make yourself happy and strive toward a healthy future. Welcome to SR craftylady!
