One week down

Rough week but I made it through the worse of the physical trauma, now comes the hard part. My pattern is to go for a few weeks and then try it again. Not this time, I'm determined to quit drinking for good.

Good for you! Yes, the first week is tough physically but now it becomes more of a mental issue. Do you have a plan? I hope that you will stick around here and continue to read and post.

Hi rv, well done on your sober time, it does get easier with time, but I, personally, have to be on my guard, so complacency doesn't sneak in.

Perhaps I am odd, but after many years of dread, thinking that I would probably die without alcohol,I simultaneously resigned myself to an early death because of it - that was my insanity. xxxxxx

YEAH! That's the stuff!

A tip, though - not drinking was never enough for me. I had to start living sober. Having a plan to maintain that determination was also helpful.

Best of Luck on Your Journey!

I do have a plan, which I've developed over time. I'm finding the online sites to be very helpful since I don't know a lot of people around here. My big problem is dealing with illness without drinking, and I've been trying o be more aware and proactive when this happens.
