Husband stopped smoking
Husband stopped smoking
He's been stopped two weeks now and I just wondered what sort of support can I give him.
I think I put my foot in it when he said he's not sleeping very well and waking up early I said it's probably the withdrawals of smoking. I don't want to throw it in his face with anything he says so just wondered the right way to help without being annoying.
Thankss for any tips

If he seems to want to avoid places he enjoyed smoking or other smokers, I would support that. I only quit because of pregnancy but went back to smoking as soon as I weaned my baby. Then I became pregnant again and quit right away.
I might have taken it up again but I joined a small group of moms who wouldn't have accepted a smoker. New friends, new activities and time have made me a true non-smoker, and I haven't smoked in more than 24 years.
My friend quit a couple of years ago, and for her, the problem was her porch, where she normally smoked. She couldn't go out there without wanting a cigarette, so she had to stop going out there for a good six months.
Best of luck to you and your husband.

Thanks, Kate, yes he is tetchy, we've had a few rows........
Olive, yes he smells better, no tobacco smell on his clothes...
Susan, I can relate to the porch .. I loved cookery programmes but haven't started watching them again yet due to all the booze they drink on them...
Least, thanks, I want to support him as much as poss without making a fuss and mentioning smoking unless he wants to talk about it,, which, he is a man of few words, so he doesn't say much.. Unless we argue.xx
Thanks, again for all your words, most helpful.xx
