Has anyone seen the movie called 'Smashed'?

Tonight I'm watching a DVD movie called 'Smashed' with Aaron Paul that I got from Netflix. In just the first 20 minutes, my anxiety has risen to levels as if I'm reliving some of my own intoxicated nightmares.

However, there's something so cathartic about actually watching this from the outside. You can CLEARLY see the road they are heading down and want to scream "what the heck are you doing to your life - don't you want to live, don't you love yourself?"

As much as it's painful to watch in the beginning, it reassures me further that NOTHING GOOD can ever come by taking a drink.

I hope I (WE) don't have to learn this lesson again and again...

I might have watched that one too. I cant remember the title, but there was a Peace Officer who followed a bum around in Hawaii over about 10 or 20 years. It showed the progression in his face, and as usual the bum would lie, say he hasnt drank in X amount of time while the PO was in the bush filming him drinking.

I think I've seen that one, this flick is not a documentary but really well done.
I'm glad I watched it tonight - put many things into perspective for me...

I've seen it. I thought it was good. I could definitely relate to what she (the female lead character) was going through--both during active addiction & recovery.

Yes I saw this and had a hard time watching it. I seem to do better reading about this stuff than seeing it. Maybe seeing it just makes it too real for me.
