I needed to come across this today. I'm sorry it is not 'don't worry be happy' by bobby mcferrin. Sometimes it is comforting to find out someone already wrote something for you lol. I told my therapist the other day after getting my ex's last letter that I feel trapped under ice. The weird realization is I felt trapped under ice as the relationship went on, the physical abuse, and I lost myself more and more, and I lost her more and more. The ice has to melt sometime, right? It has to.

It is freedom, it is for sure, but damn it hurts because its a chosen freedom we NEEDED to have, are relieved to have, but we HATE it at the same time, because of the cost of it. And its weird, because we go numb, maybe we hurt so much for so long our pain sensors deaden and just give out like an old beat up car. I keep alternating between frozen numb, raging hot with anger, cold fear of him showing up, burning searing tearing pain in my chest when I'm sobbing in grief (maybe that's my heart condition??), and then back to the slithery cold of acceptance. I say slithery because it keeps slipping out of my grip. For me its anything by Three Days Grace but especially "Gone Forever". I could list so many of their songs that fit. I think the lead singer was an addict, maybe that's why they fit? Seriously, pretty much whole albums by them really hit home with me now and its what I blast when I paint to let out the emotions.
