Smile Don't Give Up!

I have a visual for those struggling. If you could stand back and watch yourself drinking, and seen yourself change into a person you're not, and all the pain and yuck that go along with it. Do you think it would that help teach you to be the person, you're meant to be?

Don't you think today would be a good day to FREE yourself?
There's only so many excuses we can make, then one day we run out of them.

You can do this. If I did, anyone can, I live with a drinker, that used to be my excuse. Not anymore, this is about me and YOU, and no one else.

Yeah change can be hard, but we all have a choice to make it hard, or easy.
Hope you make a good choice You're a lot stronger, than you can imagine.

Don't Give Up

In this proud land we grew up strong
We were wanted all along
I was taught to fight, taught to win
I never thought I could fail

No fight left or so it seems
I am a man whose dreams have all deserted
I've changed my face, I've changed my name
But no-one wants you when you lose

Don't give up
'cos you have friends
Don't give up
You're not beaten yet
Don't give up
I know you can make it good

It is about us as individuals to take responsibility for our own sobriety. I have used other people so many times before as being the reason I drink. I drank because I wanted them to be happier somehow, as if my drinking made them happy! Stupid thinking really. Hope this makes sense to someone!!

Thanks for the post Jus. One of the most frustrating and infuriating things to me now that I have attained some level of sobriety is my inability to share how much better sobriety really is. When I see people continually going back to drinking over and over, I see myself in the past and realize how incredibly narrow minded I was because of my addiction and how the answer to pretty much all my problems was right in front of me the whole time. I just had to quit using excuses and stop drinking like Jus suggests.
