5 months sober and feeling a bit shakey

My mind is going to the dark side and I need some support! I am going through some major changes a big physical move and looking for a new job. I want to hang on to my positive sober life. Too many times I've self- sabotaged and gone over to the dark side. Thanks!

Bet your head is telling you lies again. Mine does often. Every hour that you stay sober you light another candle to dispel that darkness. A few more months and it will be a fire...!!!!
Be strong.

Fear of change can really knock us around...but I'm sure you've dealt with change before and you will make the move and it will go ok...

I'm sure you will find a new job....and in time you will be comfortable in your new surroundings

stay strong, stay sober and you'll hit the ground running kissimee

Crazy how it happens...I think you hit on the reasons with your big move, changes and new job, you have a lot going on....5 mths is great and now the AV is rumbling around, that's not you, don't listen and shut it down....

I understand that thought
had it too many times myself
best to stay active in some healthy activities
we need to remember
what a true blessing that sobriety is
and at least for me
I don't wish to forget how much I struggled this time around
sobering up

returning from the pit of hell at times is not easy

I'm 5 months sober as well. The cravings are worse now than the first 3-4 months. I feel like I already had a slip, just minus the alcohol part...

I'm went from the mindset of never drinking again, to not drinking one day at a time.

Yes, frustrating,

It feels like I'm in my disease sans the drinking. Yuck! I'm doing a gratitude list and mindfulness meditation. I hate that sick feeling. Slogging along 24 hours at a time.

Think of how proud you will feel in 4 weeks time when you get to 6 months. Maybe start planning a special treat to give yourself to celebrate with the money you have saved - a spa day perhaps, or new shoes or a new outfit or fancy lunch?

Then think how you will feel if you do slip.

Make sure you feel proud right now in this moment to have gotten to 5 months. That's great.

Kissimee I save the money I used to spend on alcohol to buy occasional treats for myself, it's an easy way to be nice to myself.
