He Graduated!!!
He Graduated!!!
Just to let those of you who stood by me know that hubby had his last CT Head Scan done on 1/30/14. It was read today and his brain is NOT BLEEDING any longer!!!! He's done with the neurological unit and we don't have to go back unless something dire happens but we made it through the most horrific experience we've ever dealt with and we didn't kill each other!
So glad it's over! I hope and pray that none of you have to go through what I did and feel like I did! I give every credit to God that he's still here! He had a plan for him. I'm grateful for so much in my life even if it's not all perfect yet. Having him here is a blessing!
He's not 100% Lyssy. His short term memory has been decimated. He can't remember names of men he's worked with for years. He tires easily and his energy level isn't what it used to be and his Mr works less than 1/4 the time.
I won't complain considering he should have filled a bag instead of a gurney. He gets frustrated a lot because he doesn't have the desire to go to the gym but I remind him that not everyone gets to do what he did. My best friend's husband was in a bike accident and he was off for over a year. He wore a helmet and was hit from behind.
He's coming along nicely for having his head beat up like he did!

So happy for you!
My Dad had a massive stroke last July. As of today he is about 90% back to normal. Takes time, about a year for a TBI. I am sure you know that, your husband has much positive recovery and healing ahead of him. I saw the most significant differences at about 6 - 7 months.

We just passed 7 months on Feb 3rd. He's doing well and I think the best thing for us both is not settle on a time line. That's what our PCP said. He didn't want us or him mainly to get worked up over not meeting a milestone. We live one day at a time. Literally!!!
