How do I control the pain?? I had acdf neck surgery and I refuse to take drugs of any sorts. I drink to fall asleep. I have bad ear jaw neck and shoulder pain that docs don't know what to do for me. I hate drugs. Beer has helped me fall asleep but I feel like crap all day every day after ��

Have you tried massage or a chiropractor/physical therapist?
How about acupuncture?

My mother abused prescription drugs so I guess it is pyscological. I have tried acupuncture but did not work. I am seeing several different docs but all want me to take drugs. I am just fighting with myself I know. Maybe if I quit drinking and take the meds they may help but I am afraid of becoming my mother. I am running out of money to try the rest
