Raider Day 4
Raider Day 4
Still waiting for a therapist to call. I have enough meds to hold me for a bit. If I don't get a call from someone today, I'll call someone else. Feeling ok for day four. A bit tired and achy but the elliptical and much prayer helps a lot. No hangovers helps as well. Asking God to give me a sober day. Just get me through this day I ask. I'll worry about tomorrow when it comes. Your kind words are a great encouragement. As most of you know, my family is in Alaska. I read your comments to my family. They say to you all......thanks and that's all good stuff and supporting their daughter. So thanks and here's to day 4, God willing. Now off to the senior center for my volunteer shift. Blessings.
I prayed for strength too. I used his agents, the saints. Here's a prayer for you, Raider:
St. Jude, most holy Apostle, in my need I reach out to you. I beg you to intercede for me that I may find strength to overcome my illness. Bless all those who struggle with addiction. Touch them, heal them, reassure them of the Father’s constant love. Remain at my side, St. Jude, to chase away all evil temptations, fears, and doubts. May the quiet assurance of your loving presence illuminate the darkness in my heart and bring lasting peace. Amen.

Congratulations on 4 days!
You're one of my favorite posters - I can really relate because of your honesty about your struggles.
Like you I have stopped and started many times, including a stint in inpatient rehab. Whenever I feel like giving up because it feels hopeless I remember that others are still fighting and it gives me the strength to try one more time.

Raider, I went on line and narrowed psychologist and psychiatrists to those with addiction specialties around my area. I call 6, I got a call back from each of them that afternoon around 4PMish. I then interviewed on the phone and narrowed to two - I would get back on the phone and call a few more. Make it happen - I think part of your waiting is your AV actually.
