Stop telling me how to feel - I'm OK !!!

Everyday, we are profiled, by Country, Race, Religion, Cars we drive, Books we read and TV that we watch.

Adverts (Commercials), bombard us every minute of everyday to tell us
  • Drink
  • Smoke
  • Gamble
  • Borrow Money
  • Drive this car
  • Use this dating agency
  • Get this job
  • Wear these clothes
  • Eat this food
  • Watch this television
  • Download this App

Because if you do, then your one of us, your cool, your successful and if not, then your a freak.

Advertising, goes off the premise that you are in someway unfulfilled unless you buy or buy into a certain product.

So what happens when we not only buy into the above list but commit to it and to excess what then. You have guessed it we are "failures".
  • Dont drink too much, your an alcoholic
  • We smoke indoors its illegal and irresponsible
  • Your a degenerate because you have gambled your wages and lost
  • You take out payday loans because you have bad credit through bad loans
  • You drive a car and so are polluting to the environment
  • You used a dating agency to meet your Wife/Husband, you must be desperate ?
  • You got a job, which you don't like and doesn't pay enough
  • You wear clothes that fall to bits after a few washes.
  • You eat too much, your obese
  • You watch too much television, your dont spend enough time at the gym
  • You download this app to be cool, but never use it.

When do we say, STOP TELLING ME HOW TO FEEL AND LIVE !!

Well for me, you get to a point in your life, when you realise the things on their list isnt what makes me happy. Its family and looking after myself enough to be there for them. Now you see this approach doesnt help the bottom line of the fortune 500 corporations or the FTSE 100 companies, but it works for me.

Being Sober has released me from all the pre-conceived notions. I wasnt happy and drank for years trying to "fit in".

Do your own thing in your own time and at your own pace. Its time we all just accepted each other for what we are and if thats an alcoholic, smoking gambler that borrows too much money to drive a car that drinks too much fuel driving from work to go on a date. To meet a girl/boy off an internet dating site wearing clothes that no longer fit you, because your obese because you spend too much time watching TV and downloading apps you dont use.

Well thats your business isnt it. Be free. Be Sober

Its amazing the impact advertisement has on people. I had a friend who use to turn off or mute the television during commercials for the very reasons you mentioned above.

my brother in law has to turn off the volume when the ads are on....it's pretty ridiculous and ironic because he probably just does that because some liberal

politician he worships said he does it because advertisements or capitalism is so horrible. He is the type that is desperately trying to keep up with the jones' it's so obvious. he couldn't be original or authentic if he tried

plus he forgets the turn the volume back on because hes playing with his pad thing
