I made one day (again)
I made one day (again)
Made it through the day and night sober. Oh yes, how is remember the tossing, turning, sweating.....
I ask God to give me another day. This day. This day sober. Amen.
So day 2 begins....

Good for you Raider. What about getting a sponsor to help you through these tough early days? Have you thought about talking to you PCP and discussing the detox aspect and post detox? In addition to the medical aspect in terms of safety, perhaps they could help with medication to act as a deterrent at least for the first few weeks/month?
You have been trough this and know its harder each time around....just want you to have the resources necessary to be successful.
Keep posting.

Not many have the gumption to say day 1 or 2 or 3. They hide. Not you. Not me.
I posted many times over how today is a new day.
Raider... Keep going. You will be just fine I know it.
And go easy on yourself.

That first day is the hardest one..when we finally end the cycle and start off fresh you and you made it!
Keep focusing on moving forward and take it one day at a time.
A doctor once told me that he wasn't concerned with how many times I failed, that wasn't what marked whether I was in trouble or not..he said the day I give up and stop trying is the day that he will be worried because once you stop trying you might as well be dead. That has always stuck with me because I used to feel ashamed for having to start back over, but we must never give up

Thanks. On my way to the GP for meds. Waiting for the therapist to call. I'll be going there soon I hope. A couple drinks a night for five weeks has put me in a shi$$y detox position. Crap. Here we go again. Thanks guys!!!

You have always come across to me as a strong and caring person. Everyone here has your back! Sounds like you have a good plan, see the therapist and staying in touch with your doctor. Have you tried dropping into an AA meeting? I don't go very often, but being around other people and listening to their stories and feeling their strength really helps me. Sometimes I just think of that old Nike commercial that says, "just do it". It helps me to clear my head and keep moving forward. I have faith in you Raider.
