trigger time

It is now a little past 5, the Pavlovian time of day that has plauged me. But, I am staying strong. Took the dogs for a walk and now making dinner for my family. I'm so glad that I can come here and find support during the hardest part of my day. Day 2 (almost) down

That was my worst time too, during my first attempt at sobriety. Hang in there. Keep reading and posting here.

Think of tomorrow morning and how you'll feel when you wake up with no hangover! Stay strong and be well.

That was a real trigger with me too. Along with hot weather, cold weather, sunny, rainy, Fri, Sat, Sun, Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, before chores, after chores, driving, relaxing, working, mowing the lawn..you get the picture. It gets MUCH better so just hang in there and take 24 hours at a time..or one hour or 10 minutes ((((hugs)))

Stay as busy as you can. Find distractions to keep your mind busy. Keep checking in on SR and post, post, post. Drink lots of water, tea, whatever you like. All these things helped me. Good luck.

I love your post Mamagoat -

There is ALWAYS an excuse to drink isn't there? It is such a mind game.

Dinner time is the worst time for me, also. Along with a lot of other people I would guess. Stay strong Jill23.

Maybe we should start a 5pm support thread?? :-)

That's a good idea, mnrn. Also, staying busy. So far, so good tonight. usually if I get past 7, I'm good. It's not in the house and I can't go out that late (kid). Need to find a new hobby

How about keeping your hands busy, taking up knitting? How old is your kid? I do Lego with my grandson, it can absorb me for hours!

That time of day is rough, a lot to do with blood sugar levels....try snacking at one hour intervals during the afternoon...helped me a lot...if you keep blood sugar level, will help...or bod wants those simple, quick sugars that time of day
