1 year sober
Today I am 1 year sober, bit uneventful, and not really celebrated, but my life has changed dramatically, I no longer plan my day around drinking, I am no longer physically sick every morning I wake, no atrial fibrillation, no high blood pressure, no longer obese, no constant trips to buy wine at 5 am in morning, no driving my children to school drunk, no putting them to bed drunk,
Today my spirit is alive and I am living..and my family love it and don't ever want it to stop. I will always have this disease and only others who have it understand how I feel.
Wish me luck.

Hi George congratulations on 1 whole year, you must be so proud and pleased and your family must be over the moon with you, I know I would have if my dad had sobered up, it would have made my life complete.
All the best for the future to you and your family

George16, thank you for the great post. I love the way you mark the end of year 1 - No big fanfare. Just a quiet, thoughtful moment of recognition. That is how I hope to mark my first year of sobriety, several months from now.
Congratulations. And good luck.
