Winning the battle

I just feel so victorious right now I had to share. I went grocery shopping last night (Saturday night) alone. My kids wanted some flavored water which happens to be in the liquor aisle. I walked slowly past all the those bottles. I felt the pull from the SoCo. I literally clenched my teeth a pushed past. As I was checking out liquor free, I realized this was my first time standing stron facing real temptation. I could have grabbed the bottle. Every trip to the garage for another bag of groceries to unload could have been a secret swig.

Instead, I woke up this morning without that crushing regret! Almost through week 1.

Congratulations on a week. That's wonderful! I know that "hidden bottle" routine. I used to keep a bottle of tequila in the garage. Waking up in the morning without that hangover, in my humble opinion, is one of the best feelings in the world.

Congrats on getting past the temptation and staying strong. I love waking up feeling good. One of the benefits of living sober.

Way to go! The siren song of those bottles gets quieter pretty quickly.

What a triumph Glad you rose above the temptation. Brad's right - the siren song quiets down eventually.

It is a great feeling isn't it. In no time at all you won't even register that you are in the aisle that has alcohol...
Great job
