156 Days Today..
156 Days Today of No Alcohol and No Smoking. I can only advise the people who still drink and all the people who are new to being Sober to give up this poison... You are in for a treat.. I have no words for the health benefits, both physical and mental. I probably eat twice as much than what I used to eat before and I am in fact getting into shape as the metabolism has returned to normal like it used to be in the youth days. Millions of times better... Sleep, Sex, Feel, Touch, Taste, Hearing, Eyesight, Thinking, Memory, Clarity, Confidence.. to name the few. I don't count the days or months anymore.. Not drinking has become a part of me... In fact I go to pubs more and more since I have been sober then what I used to to before. I am unbeaten in pool game from last 2 months. Everything you do being sober has a value and a purpose. Alcohol has proved to be a poison in my life and I really think I have wasted 10 -15 years of my life... I see a great future. I am in talks of buying a business... would have never thought of doing a business a few months ago. Again I must stress that I would not have achieved this without this God-Sent forum and its members. I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

If anyone had told me several months ago that sobriety would feel so good I wouldn't have believed it. Maybe if I had found SR earlier and read posts like this one I would have started my journey sooner. Sobriety isn't the deprivation or self punishment I conceptualized it as. It's made everything better, not that it's always easy. I hope anyone sitting on the fence wondering if they have a problem or wanting to quit will read these posts and find the strength to start their own journey. SR is always here to help us along in our successes and our temporary detours. I'm extremely thankful for that. And congrats on 156 days Malcolm, I'm right behind you!
