Friday night and day 6 done!

Hi everyone. It's just gone 1am in the morning here and just thought I would give a quick little check in! My first Friday night in a long time of being sober and it feels great! I had planned to got to a AA meeting tonight however something at work came up which made me miss it :-( - as my work colleges headed to the pub after I proudly said not tonight and went home! My friend then joined me for a few horror movies and a takeaway! No alcohol even mentioned! I feel great getting into bed right now and am looking forward to a sober weekend! Hope everyone is enjoying Friday and weekend to come :-)

That's awesome! Feels good waking up on Saturday morning without a hangover and now you have the whole weekend ahead of you.

Sober weekends seem to last so much longer and I have so far used the money I would have spent on drinks on doing fun things with my weekend like riding the bus to new part of town and trying a new restaurant. Might go see a movie or go to the zoo tomorrow.

I was just thinking the same thing! Only 8pm where I am and this is the first Friday night in years that I am sober. I would have been opening my 2nd bottle of wine by now, falling asleep on the couch and have no recollection of the movie I had watched by morning. Sounds like you have some great friends too. Good job.
