Sixteen Days

So today I'm 16 days sober. I have a doctor appointment tomorrow to see if I can get off these blood pressure pills. I'm pretty excited for this as I have lost like 11 pounds and my home blood pressure monitor says my bp went down 35 points. (this was about an hour ago)

I'm still very overweight. I weight 229 pounds and I'm short. I have a long way to go. Before I started drinking I weighted like 170. 60 pounds of booze hanging around on my gut.

It's a slow process to lose this much weight so I'm not crash dieting. I am eating about 1800 calories. This equates to about 1.5 pounds / week for me without exercise. With exercise, it should be a little more.

this will delay me dieting for a few weeks. :-)

Great work Justin, and good luck at the doc tomorrow. Quitting helped my BP, weight and overall health tremendously...wishing the same for you.

Slow and steady wins the race I think - you'll look back and marvel at how quickly it all went tho

Great job!
Don't forget, it's the healing that's happening on your insides that will REALLY start showing on your outsides as you stick with sobriety. That's a promise.
It will amaze you.

Great work Justin. It is better to lose weight slowly. If you crash diet, as soon as you try to plateau, your body tried to store the slightest morsel as fat and invariably you put it all back on again xxxx
