Feeling great now, still thinking about it (drinking) but not doing it and going on here instead. I can't believe what a help this has been.
I will be sober for my adult sons' Birthday on Sunday !!
How do I keep this going ? How have all of you done it ? And anyone in the first days......how are you doing it ?

Just keep thinking about TODAY, don't worry about how your gonna stay Sober next week or next month, you only have to get to bedtime TODAY . . . then tomorrow, you get another TODAY!!

Focusing on small steps somehow got me to a few months, but it was made up of 60+ TODAYS!!

LolaR, 6 days sober is FANTASTIC, congratulations. At 6 days sober I was constantly telling myself "NO" every time and urge or craving and 3 years 6 months sober now can't remember the last time I had a cravings. Things will get better the longer you don't drink. Rootin for ya.

By empowering your sober self so that when that AV starts singing its sweet song you have the strength to recognize the lies and tell it "NO!"

Only you can say for sure what makes the Sober LolaR stronger.
