Day 3... a little bit of hope!
I'm actually here to spread a little hope today! The last 2 days were probably two of the worst days of my entire life. I've been in mental, emotional, physical and spiritual anguish over the wreckage of my last binge. I've had the worst detox of my life to date. But something happened last night..... I SLEPT! With no pills or booze? This is just a complete miracle to me. And I'm feeling like an almost human today... and I even have some hope. I've been praying my butt off asking my higher power/the universe/WHATEVER is out there to just take over and please help me... Maybe these prayers were answered. I know I might have to deal with the consequences of my actions still.... there could be some legal troubles. I could lose my job. I might lose my relationship. But that is all completely out of my control so spending time berating myself about it all isn't going to help me stay sober today. So anyone who is on day one or day two - please just stick with it because I can promise you it gets better! Can't wait for day 4. Thanks for the support SR peeps - you really helped me through the last couple of brutal days.

seems like there's a few of us here today on our day 2,3 or 4 ...
it's helpful to know that we are not alone in this seemingly tough world.
i'm glad you are doing better. really am.
you certainly sound a lot more hopeful today (and that gives many of us a little bit of hope as well)...
if i learned anything from the past is that these torturous days do become easier one day at time.
hang in there buddy!
