2nd day sober

Hi, I'm new here. This is my 2nd day without drinking. Well it's the beginning of the 2nd day anyways. I have been dealing with this for many years. I have never done this online thing before, hope I'm doing it right : )

You've come to a very friendly and supportive site. We want to help you get sober for good. I come here every day and credit SR for a lot of help in getting sober.

I'm glad you joined us.

Hi LolaR
I was on day 2 last week and I am now on Day8. I have found SR such a valuable place to read and find out about how others approach ditching the drink for good. I made it through the weekend (which I thought would be a big test) without too much trouble. Felt so rested and rejuvenated for being sober.
The early days gave me a headache, dry skin and the need to drink plenty of water, but emotionally SR helped to keep me on track.
Good luck!

Welcome. thats really great! Yeah, I only have a few days also but SR has been a good support. For a long time i couldn't stop and now that I have I can't believe I have. not drinking is not something I am not used to. At all. Taking it one day at a time. Reading stuff here. Listening to online meetings. Its not easy but the last night I drank and used sucked pretty bad too so whatever.

Welcome! I am on day 3 & find this a great place to be. I've been on here every spare minute I have, even in the night when I can't sleep. Seems there's always someone here.

starting day 5, want to drink bad

Thank you to those that have replied to me, it has helped a lot. I had a really tough time today. I want a drink sooooo bad, I can't get my mind off it. It's 1:30 a.m. here and not sleeping. I am dreading tomorrow, but proud of getting this far. Hearing from all of you is just amazing to me , thank you. I don't know how to write to some of you personally, but would like to.

Hey lola, You should be proud, you are doing so well.
Stay with it, it will get better and you want have to do this again.

Tell your addictive voice to be quite that you are not going to drink.

Have you tried a cup of camomile tea or having something to eat.

Stay strong, Lola. That urge will pass, and you'll feel so much better for it.

Welcome!!! You will begin to feel better so hang in there. The toughest part for me was making the 1st step and yesterday was 40 days. It does get easier but support on here really is helpful.

Hang in there!!!
