Not another night...uugghh

So I could not sleep last night and was up on SR around 3 or 4 am. I thought I would sleep peaceful tonight. I am so awake. I feel like I drank a bunch of red Bulls. I am sweating and just took a shower. I want to jump out of my own skin.
uuuggghhh....I can't sit still. Going to hop on Treadmill...
hopefully I willl want to sleep after.

Hi kflee, hope the run on the treadmill worked.
It takes time for our bodies and minds to adjust with no alcohol x

Hi. We messed up our daily clocks and sometimes it takes awhile to have reset take effective. During my early days it was suggested to have large amounts of sugar based items like ice cream sodas, frappes, and sundaes to replace the sugars the body is missing that was supplied by the alcohol. My problem is I think I subconsciously extended that pleasure!

BE WELL

The first three nights were like this for me. Hard to sleep, sweating but FREEZING. It sucked.

I had a lot of trouble sleeping in early sobriety
and my sleeping is not really that great today
staying sober is of most importance even if it comes with not much sleep

for most this corrects itself in time (usually short time)

Me too! I'm now on a diet to get rid of the 14lbs weight gain from chocolate and ice- cream Was worth it though

Good for you, kflee. I had the exact same experience in my first two weeks, sleeping at the oddest times and getting up fully awake at 4:30 or 5:30. I finally decided to be productive and got on the treadmill, made some coffee and started my day whenever I awoke. I am now sleeping through the night, but still hit the treadmill every morning. A much better habit than those I've left behind!

The body has to adjust to not having what it has always had, but it will all balance out eventually, keep pushing through!!

It will get better with time. If you cannot sleep, at least lie down and rest.

I had sleep disturbance then, and I have it now. Try not to let it upset you, don't lay there and toss and turn. Just lie there and rest or get up and do something. Go with the flow, it won't kill you.
