Another OD
Another OD
A friend OD'd this morning (heroin). I had suspected he was addicted to opiates over a year ago because his behavior and personality changed so drastically. He had hurt his back prior to that, and lost his job because he was no longer able to perform. His poor wife is the one who found him. She is a very young widow :-(
I will always have a special place in my heart for him, because of my daughter. Neither of them were addicts yet when he helped her deal with a tragedy. I'm hating having to tell her. I'm not afraid for her at all, it's just so damn depressing to say "hey, ____ OD'd." I just told her about another death last month.
I'm so tired of grieving and I hate this disease.

Dear Chino, I am so sorry that this disease has taken another precious life.
Seems like Heroin has taken over our young/medium and older folks lives.
What can we do to stop this, why has this happened?
Gentle kind soft hugs to you and your family, his family too, and all the relatives and friends that this senseless death will cause. Another loss, another dream silenced.

In a certain county in my state there were 112 heroin od deaths in 2013, 53 in 2012 and 4 this month already.
Heroin usage is rising among the middle classes, the police are actually carrying the nasal treatment so they can administer immediately in hope to save them.
I'm sorry your friend died chino.

I'm sorry, Chino. Pain pills are really taking their toll, I think people think they can't OD on them and I have personally known 3 people who did and died this past year.
Prayers out for this mans family and all who loved him.

Thank you everyone. My friend and his wife lived in another state (very close to Fandy) thankfully surrounded by family, but they have a huge family of friends here in my state. We all saw each other at least a half dozen times a year. Quite a few of us are meeting later today, because there's strength in numbers and we all need each other right now! We're also going to round up $$$ for his widow, because their finances were, like usual, decimated by this disease. It helps to do something and at least we can.
I'm sorry, Chino...My thoughts and prayers for you and all those impacted by his untimely death. I know what you mean about having to tell your daughter. My heart broke earlier this year when I had to tell my daughter that a childhood friend went back out and OD'd the same day. I hate it too.
