Your answers sound good to me I'd be tempted to add SR and 'mutual support' in there somewhere

I think they sound fine, too, but I'm not in AA.
We have a special link that deals with the AA Steps: Alcoholism-12 Step Support - SoberRecovery : Alcoholism Drug Addiction Help and Information.

Good luck!

I'm not quite sure what you are struggling with. There are a zillion things more powerful than me. I don't count amongst them an invisible mythical old guy in the sky though. Personally I choose AA itself and specifically my local group to be that power AA refers to.

What do you choose; a slow alcoholic death or a spiritual way of life?

step 2 Are you willing to believe

or

Are you willing to set aside your old beliefs

that a power greater than you might exist?

or

Are you willing to stop insisting there is no god?

move to the decision in step 3 Do you believe the steps will help you?

then step 4, 5, 6 & 7.

it's not rocket science.

The steps help us to find a relationship with a power greater than ourselves via a spiritual experience. This experience can happen by working those steps!

It's what I was asked when working the steps in a very simple manner. It eased the anxiety in trying to fully comprehend what was an experience.

I can't and don't try to understand my higher power, but I certainly know there is one since working through those steps. Step 2 "came to life" when I worked through step 7. Now that was an experience which can not be explained; but not a craving nor desire to drink or use since day 16, the day after I worked those steps quickly, for relief.

step 2 is very simple: came to believe in a power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity. a power that can help us with our problems.
this sentence from "we agnostics":
Well, that's exactly what this book is about. Its main object is to enable you to find a Power greater than yourself which will solve your problem.

tells me all I have to do is believe. I don't have to make it any more complicated than,"yes, I believe" and then continue with the rest of the steps.
I started with the belief.
that grew to faith
which grew to trust.
