Moment by moment

My counselor told me to not obsess about the future, to just not take a drink moment by moment. She also said the girl I like in AA is just protecting her sobriety, and she said to not let it make me feel bad. I also told her playing piano makes me happy and helps my sobriety, but I sometimes will not play before or after a meeting because I am afraid people will think I am showing off (I have played since I was very little). She said to just play and that people will enjoy listening. Well I played tonight and everyone clapped. It was ridiculous, one woman asked me if that was what I did for a living.

I did not speak directly to the girl I hooked up and fell in love with. But I did yell goodnight to her from afar. She turned around but I just walked home. My counselor helps me a lot, she said I had the family from hell. It helps to laugh.

Acheleus, I wish I could hear you play. It's a wonderful thing when people not only share their problems at AA meetings, but also share their gifts.

You & that girl you like have a lot of things to work through, each on your own. As they say, give time time.

No point in obsessing over the future Acheleus :-) it's not here yet . I used to do it all the time , but it served no purpose .

I'd love to hear you play x

Live for today xxx :-)

Ah yes, living in the moment, it can be done and it helps tremendously!

I took 7 years of piano lessons as a child, but have lost most of it. You have inspired me to get back on the bench and learn again. My piano has been sitting unused far too long. Music can be so healing.

I always wished I'd have learned to play piano, Ach. Sounds like you're handing things pretty well.
